Inspiration
After reading the description of Gsoft's software, we took some time to research about the issue; onboarding in the industry. After learning about common issues when it comes to onboarding, we brainstormed some ways that we can prevent a lack of onboarding and maximize the benefits all employees can have when getting into a new job. Our ultimate goal is to make it easier to identify the happiness level of the employers and learn how to provide the best onboarding process. Hence, We identified and created the problem-solution model to demonstrate our solution into this issue:
What it does
Infomation Overload - Gsoft boarding is designed to let former employers upload and post various types of media (i.e., image, text, video) on the Tutorials menu to demonstrate essential work skills. Since this is pre-recorded and is preserved, anyone with the app can look up anytime, which is efficient for both the employer and the employee by not having to perform the same task multiple times.
Lack of resources - Gsoft Boarding Provides a resources function with a list of essentiall law and work hazards an individual must be mindful of when in workplace and sources to reach out when in need
Lack of employee engagement - Gsoft boarding provides a community function where users can engage with other employers remotely. You get to find out your coworkers' hobbies and this menu also provides an ice breaking function, which promotes active socialization within the community and creates a strong relationship between colleagues.
No goal or achievement - When an individual does not have a clear goal in their job, this could lead them to lack motivation in work, which could possibly result in low performance of work and possibility of turnover. We added a tool next to the user's profile where you can easily set your happiness level and the progress bar for their goal. This reflects the happiness level of the employers which the employers can take as a form of evaluation on the work atmosphere.
No feedback loop - Gsoft boarding has a tool named “Feedback”where any Gsoft user can evaluate the quality of onboarding service and work environment anonymously. This helps the community to reflect on their onboarding process and result in improvement, and status update.
How we built it
We built it by using React Js for the framework, Javascript as a language, and various MUI library components.
Challenges we ran into
Managing our time was the biggest challenge that we faced. It was hard to start from designing the app to finish the app in about 24 hours.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We managed to implement all the pages that we were originally designing for.
