Inspiration
*With the rise of technology that aims to make us more connected, we live in a more isolated and distant time than ever. This was the inspiration behind making an application to streamline the process of hanging out while eliminating the anxieties that barrier these connections. *
What it does
Ideally it would be a toggle like experience where the user could showcase to their friends that they are currently free, allowing others to contact and set up locations to meet face to face.
How we built it
We built it using react native to make a seamless cross-platform experience.
Challenges we ran into
Difficulties arose due to our lack of previous experiences with react native and the react framework. The use of the expo cli also posed a challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating a concrete design and prototype of our application as well as the streamlining and design of the user experience.
What we learned
We learned a lot about development and design principles as well as how to maximize our time more efficiently.
What's next for HangOut UTD
Further streamline of the design and functions of the application as well as future development is definitely needed to capture the success of this innovative idea.
