I’ve been in a LDR for two years, and our message log is like 50% wholesome memes, including a wholesome image generator!

What it does

Happeer is an infinite scroll feed of happy things. The app sends you wholesomeness through notifications throughout the day, lets you submit your own feel-good messages, and even will let you match and toast people who need it. Let the good times scroll!

Challenges we ran into

Two teammates didn’t show up, one left three hours in, and two that we recruited mutually decided to return to this project when we had less of a time crunch to keep things happeer :)

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Created a great Figma mock-up and presentation. Laid barebones for a site.

What we learned

Overcommunicate to get a team and plan set up before the event begins! Want to spend as much time hacking and building as possible.

What's next for Happeer

We’ll return to this in March, when we’ll create the feed and share it with our friends.
Next, we’ll launch a React Native app version with notifications
We’ll integrate accounts and posting through firebase
Launch Toast: anonymous letter requesting and sending
Add sound effects, color changes based on sentiment, and animations
We’ll switch moderating over to Open-AI and once we have enough community content, top contributors
Begin partner program with features. More happeers :)
Add happiness habit tracker and research content
