Inspiration
Depression affects 77% of terminally ill patients. We wanted to deliver a platform that helped people connect with those in similar situations to find someone who can relate to them.
What it does
It stores user accounts on Amazon Web Services and allows for users to find people in similar situations in a reasonable distance.
How I built it
We build the application using Android Studio and in Java.
Challenges I ran into
We had a hard time choosing a project to work on, as some were too simple, and some too complex. I believe that this project was a good test.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We all came together and contributed out own parts to end a with a final product that we are all happy with.
What I learned
Planning ahead makes a big difference. Also, learned to connect AWS with Android.
What's next for Hope-str
We plan on continuing to build upon what we started here at Hawkathon. We feel that a forum functionality would be beneficial to our users.
