Her and She | Devpost

Inspiration

The main inspiration behind this project was to create an inclusive and helpful community for the all the women across the world. A one stop place where they can have discussions on various things. At the same time, we also wanted to create a platform for women where they could discover various career opportunities.

What it does

Her and She is basically a community platform that aims that bringing all the women across the world together. The application is integrated with Google Authentication and once the user logs in , they will have options to explore 2 tabs. One would be the discussion forum and other would be opportunities tab. The discussion tab comprises of different groups like a Coding, Design etc. The user depending upon their interest can pick any group and have discussions with other users on those topics. The second tab is opportunities tab where users can discover various career opportunities posted by other women users. Also there will a contact feature with every opportunity so that users can connect with the person who posted the opportunity and discuss about referrals or application process. Since the opportunity will be posted by women only it makes easier and comfortable for other women to communicate with them. Also to avoid spam users we will be verifing user identify first to make sure only women have access to platform.

How we built it

In order to build this application we used ReactJs framework for the front end development and integrated it with Firebase Auth for Google Authentication. Along with we also used ChakraUI framework for UI. We also were looking forward to implement react chat engine for the discussion forum but were unable to complete it.

What we learnt

While working on this project we learnt how to work with ReactJS framework and various concept like React Context, React Router and also learnt using ChakraUI framework along with that.
We also learnt how to integrate Firebase Google Authentication with our application.
We also got a brief insight on how to integrate React Chat Engine with our application.
