Inspiration
A friend saw a printed picture of their ex and hide their face with a marker. And we thought, how could we used AI to cover your ex face in your gallery
What it does
The app takes a picture of your ex and pictures where you ex is at, recognizes your ex face and attaches an emoji to your choosing to the pictures where he is present.
How we built it
We used Python for the backend, a face recognition API, and react for the Front end.
Challenges we ran into
Finding a face recognition API, a Google Photos picker API, making sure the emoji fit the face of the ex, dealing with package installation, understanding the API face recogntion
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Using deep learning model to recognize faces, learned new frameworks at the spot for instance: react and flask, learned to pivot and be resourceful,
What we learned
Flask and react, we learned to create a virtual environment, how faced recognition software fundamentally works, to work as a team, effectively changed roles as the teams dynamics were developing
