Inspiration

Our inspiration derives from the imperative to address mental health disparities and dismantle systemic barriers. We are driven by the belief that everyone deserves equitable access to supportive communities and resources for their mental well-being. By centering marginalized voices and experiences, we aim to create a space where individuals can find solidarity and empowerment in their mental health journeys.

What it does

Our platform leverages a progressive approach to mental health care, using a comprehensive quiz to personalize support and foster connection. Through algorithmic matching, users are placed in affinity groups that honor their unique identities and lived experiences. An AI bot serves as a compassionate guide, offering culturally competent resources and facilitating meaningful conversations. By prioritizing inclusivity and intersectionality, we strive to cultivate a community where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.

How we built it

We used React.js for the frontend and firebase for the user authentication and message database. Along with this, we used API's of large language models like ChatGPT to run the underlying chat bot. Along with this we have other underlying machine learning models checking for emotional sentiments and predicting the mental status of the user. This is just the starting for UNTITLED and we hope to go a long way with improvements to the model, fine-tuning the large language model as well as integrating more features like augmented reality avatars and characters to foster more emotions and connection and help the client feel loved and happy.

Challenges we ran into

One of the major challenges we ran to is the integration of such a multitude of features in just 36 hours. Furthermore one of our members had left midway, and left us with a lot of work to do and very less time to do it. While struggling with this, we also had a few issues with GPU's as most of them were paid and we were not able to fine-tune Gemma and make our own LLM specific to this goal. Further more we had to acclimatize in the last moment with just 3 or 4 hours to spare because of an issue with different versions of modules between our members.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of integrating the frontend, backend, ML model and API's within just a day as well as working with cutting edge GEN AI tools to solve for our problem. We are proud to be hosting such a project as well as machine learning model online for everybody to use. Lastly we are proud of the revenue model as well as the social implications of our project.

What we learned Throughout the development of our project, we learned the importance of adaptability and resilience when facing unexpected challenges. The experience highlighted the value of effective teamwork and communication, particularly when one of our members left midway through the project. We also gained insights into the complexities of integrating a diverse set of technologies, including frontend, backend, and machine learning models, all within a short timeframe. Our work with cutting-edge generative AI tools also offered valuable lessons in balancing ethical considerations and innovation.

What's next for Untitled Looking ahead, we aim to expand and enhance the features of our platform to create an even more engaging and supportive space for our users. We plan to refine our large language models and machine learning algorithms to offer even more personalized and empathetic support. Additionally, we intend to explore augmented reality avatars and characters to foster a deeper sense of connection and emotional engagement. We are committed to continuous improvement, fine-tuning our models and expanding our user base while maintaining our focus on inclusivity and intersectionality. As we grow, we aim to solidify our impact on mental health care and well-being.
