Inspiration
Our main inspiration for this is our love for the history of math and desire to give the ability to others to be able to explore how math has developed over time.
What it does
It gives you a selection of mathematicians and allows you to choose one and speak to it and enquire about how they solved math problems at their time
How we built it
We used React for the front end, Node.js for the backend, and MongoDB for the database.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into challenges with Node.js for the most part, we required a large amount of libraries and that led to rather frustrating problems, such as version mismatches.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The main part we're particularly proud of is the interface. This was primarily done using the MUI library for React.
What we learned
We learned how to create a full stack project using React and Node, and we learned how to use the MUI library to create an appealing UI.
What's next for Histomath
We can see Histomath being developed so you have a wider selection of mathematicians and better answers from them.
