Inspiration
Vaccine not only prevents diseases but also poverty.
Vaccine centers and clinics have a spare dose of vaccines as a safety net. These vaccines are later discarded without being fully utilized.
In light of this, we would like to help vaccine centers and clinics to utilize these vaccine doses by notifying interested individuals living nearby to take these spare vaccines (at a cheaper price), with a goal to save the environment and save lives.
As not everyone has access to the internet or smart devices, we used programmed phone calls instead of an app for individuals to sign-up and receive notifications.
What it does
For individuals from low-income backgrounds
Individuals can register their interest (which vaccine) via programmed phone calls. The bot will text users via SMS/ call using the programmed phone calls when there is a spare vaccine dose available near their location.
Individuals can choose to accept or turn down spare vaccine dose invitations. The bot will send a confirmation SMS message to individuals with the location of the clinic/ vaccine center.
For clinics/ vaccine centers
Vaccine centers and clinics can register and use the dashboard to keep track of vaccine dosage and bookings. Once there are spare vaccines, clinic/ vaccine centers can release a spot and notify individuals nearby.

How we built it
Programmed phone calls using Dialogflow and Node.js
Front-end development using html, css and javascript
Back-end development using Firebase
Challenges we ran into
We are an international team and not all developers are awake at the same time. We overcame the challenge with effective communication and planning.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We built a functional prototype (in a short span of time)!
What we learned
We learnt a lot about integration Dialogflow to Firebase
What's next for Immunza
SMS notifications & sign-ups
Mobile app for phone with internet & smart devices
