Inspiration

Railway networks are the backbone of public transportation, but managing train delays, track conflicts, and real-time traffic remains largely manual and reactive. During peak hours, even a small delay can cascade into large-scale disruptions. We were inspired to build Junoon (AITrainMax) to explore how AI-driven decision support can modernize railway traffic control and improve operational efficiency.

Problem Statement

Railway traffic controllers face challenges such as:

  • Lack of real-time visualization of train movements
  • Inefficient handling of delays and overtakes
  • Manual decision-making under high pressure
  • No predictive insights for proactive traffic management

These issues directly impact passenger experience, safety, and infrastructure efficiency.

Our Solution

Junoon is an AI-powered Railway Traffic Command Center that provides real-time monitoring, intelligent delay prediction, and smart decision support for railway operations. The system visualizes active trains, detects potential conflicts, and suggests optimized actions such as track allocation and overtaking decisions using AI insights.

AI Integration

We integrated Google Gemini AI to analyze operational scenarios and generate human-readable explanations for traffic decisions, such as why a train should be delayed, rerouted, or prioritized. This makes AI recommendations transparent and trustworthy for controllers.

Alerts & Real-Time Updates

Using Firebase, Junoon enables real-time alerts and notifications for critical events like excessive delays or traffic conflicts. This ensures faster response times and better coordination.
