Inspiration

We wanted to make something that involved coding and hardware and we knew that a Raspberry pi was a great place to start so we went ahead and tried it. We also wanted to use as many things as we could that we already had so we used a PS3 controller and an Arduino board.

How it works

We send the bluetooth signal from the PS3 controller to the RPi and then the RPi sends a serial signal to the Arduino which sends a signal to the motors to control the speed at which they rotate.

Challenges I ran into

Connecting the PS3 controller. getting RPi to communicate with Arduino Getting motors to run smoothly getting enough battery power to lift it.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Writing all the code from scratch in python. Getting PS3 controller to be the main controller calibrating ESC's correctly

What I learned

The battery dies fast. RPi cant do PWM very well.

What's next for KindaCopter

Making it Actually fly correctly
