Inspiration

We found the challenge interesting, especially as none of us had any previous experience with knowledge graphs. We believed that we could create a unique and actually helpful solution, given our wide range of skillsets.

What it does

Analyzes a student population and provides insights into academic habits.

How we built it

ML + APIs (FastAPI/React) on top of a Neo4j knowledge graph.

Challenges we ran into

Applying ML on a generated dataset, which sometimes did not provide logical results. Also, none of us had any experience with Knowledge Graphs, so it was great to overcome that and learn!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Finishing strong and providing a project that looks good.

What we learned

Full-stack development, learning technologies such as FastAPI for the backend, React for the frontend, and Neo4J for the database.

What's next for KnowYourUni

Eventual prod-ready deployment, adding more features and adding stable auth/encryption to become a real tool for university students and faculty.
