Inspiration

We were inspired by Facebook's version of messenger and decided to build upon it into our own.

What it does

A basic messaging app.

How we built it

We built it together using Visual Studio Codes liveshare extension to all edit the same code in the same directory at once. We used XAMPP to load the PHP onto a site and for testing, and we port forwarded the XAMPP listening port to see our changes live on everyone's personal computer.

Challenges we ran into

Domain.com wasn't working so we had to go look for different domains which caused a lot of trouble. Without domains, we couldn't get a https with CSR certificates. Without HTTPS, we were able to integrate Twilio, our account management system.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our website design and account managements with security for logging in.

What we learned

We learned how to code in PHP and setting up accounts with multifactor authentication.

What's next for Kouventa

Our next step for Kouventa is to create multiple channels of chat systems where users can easily but securely swap between them.
