Inspiration
I find studying on a rigid schedule with breaks makes me study better and improve my grades and stress level. But I cannot keep myself on that schedule and end up not doing my work. This app will fix that and also spread awareness about mental health.
What it does
It takes user input of how many minutes they have to study that day and creates a schedule for them. It shows them the schedule and when you hit start timer, it will start a timer that will keep your studies and breaks on track. It also can show you articles and help hotlines for mental health and mental health awareness/problems.
How we built it
We built the app using Unity. The scrips were written in c#. We then built the app for android by making it a .apk file that, if we wanted to, could be uploaded to the play store.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into many challenges with the c# script. We are fairly new at coding in c#, and things did not work the way we wanted them to all the time. We also ran into many challenges building it for android. We needed to get an android emulator, and get the sdk file to work, which it did not. After many tries and fixes, we finally got it to work and the app to run on android.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very proud to have finished on time. Also, we are proud that we created a working app completely from scratch using Unity.
What we learned
We learned a lot about how to script in c# in Unity. We also learned a lot about how to design a visually pleasing app.
What's next for LearnGage
Polish the game, adding features such as the name and thumbnail on the home screen, and upload it to Google Play.
