We wanted to make an app for a group of indecisive friends to vote on where to go out to eat. Our target users are people who can't decide where to eat but have an idea of price range and category of food. We used Meteor.js as a framework for our project, as it allows for real-time voting and aggregates the votes of many users in one result.
Our server will send an http request to google places, and get recommended results based on group aggregate decisions. So far, we have decided to only provide the top result based on the user's location. For future references, we will implement a more sophisticated algorithm for suggesting results based on categories of votes, distances etc.
