Inspiration
I was inspired by my teammate who came up with the idea to make a simple app that doesn't have any complicated features for people to understand.
What it does
The app, now a website because of the complexity, does two simple tings. Provides two buttons for the incoming fishermen, finding fish and cooking fish. The first button takes the person to nearby locations of fishing locations. The other button takes the user to a list of fish and their different recipes.
How we built it
We were going to use a multitude of apps like Xcode, and Visual studio and even figma but no one knew how to do anything on any of them so I ended up using porkbun and weebly to easily build a website to at lease showcase how the app would look like and function.
Challenges we ran into
Like said before, biggest challenge and still existing problem that no one on the team knows what's going on. All teammates left overnight but I stayed, just wondering how I could make something out of my little to no knowledge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I ended up finding out that I can easily create and manipulate contents of a website and publish it to a domain which is what I did and surprised that it works this easily. Proud of that part at least.
What we learned
I learned that I have much to learn before the next HackNJIT, including raising my typing speed to above 140 to win some prizes. One thing I learned that I will never forget is that time goes by slowly when I'm in a crowded room of people.
