Inspiration
The inspiration for this project came after working at a real estate firm. The process of getting a loan would take weeks and countless emails.
From filling a loan application to signing loan documents, the process requires a lot of in-office visits. Loan guardian aims to streamline the loan process by making it 100% online
What it does
Loan guardian aims to streamline the process of getting a loan by allowing borrowers to upload signed documents online. These documents are highly confidential and we want to make sure that our process is secure. By leveraging the Typing DNA we are able to verify a borrower's identity online.
We care about our borrower's feedback and use the Anvil API to make getting user feedback simple. Once the user leaves feedback, the feedback goes right to your email, eliminating the need for paper forms.
How I built it
I used firebase authentication to handle user logins and cloud firestore to store user information. The whole project was built using React.js, HTML and CSS.
Challenges I ran into
At the beginning of the hackathon, I had two teammates, which had experience with design and backend. As a one-person team, my main challenge was implementing the typing dna api using only react.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
This is my first hackathon so I am exicited to have my first completed project. It was a really rewarding experience to be able to create something from the ground up.
What I learned
I learned a lot of version control through this hackathon. After this I plan to learn more about backend and databases so I can create a more robust application using more technologies.
What's next for loanguardian
Right now the main feature is identity verification. The next feature will be an online loan application that takes the borrower's information and qualifies them for a loan.
