Inspiration

We were inspired by the Patient Safety track we had. During the presentation, we had a speaker talk about how when they were in the hospital for a serious brain surgery, their nurse had little grasp on the situation. After hearing this, we brainstormed ideas on how we could make the information gap between the nurses and patients smaller.

What it does

MediTag is a three-part app. First, we have QR codes that are used as verification when nurses attend a patient in a hospital room. A QR code is on the door and on the patient so we can verify their information. When the QR code is successfully matched, all the patients data will be presented with their health history, along with logs of what was performed on the patient. With this, we use OpenAI to assess whether or not certain drugs are safe to use on the patient, such as painkillers, or any other medications are safe to give.
