Inspiration

Meetings are the backbone of collaboration, but let’s face it—they’re not always as productive as we’d like. Key details get missed, notes are inconsistent, and follow-ups take time we don’t have. We were inspired to create MinuteMaster to solve these pain points and redefine how businesses capture, organize, and act on meeting content. The goal? To transform every meeting into a streamlined, actionable experience where no idea or decision slips through the cracks.

What it does

MinuteMaster is a powerful real-time speech-to-text converter tailored for business meetings. Here's how it makes meetings smarter and more efficient:

Real-Time Transcription: Accurately converts spoken words into written text as the meeting happens. Searchable Archives: Stores transcriptions in an organized, searchable database, so you can find key points or decisions in seconds.

Automated Summaries: Highlights critical action items, decisions, and follow-ups for easy sharing and accountability.

Multilingual Support: Recognizes multiple languages, making it ideal for global teams. Accessibility First: Provides meeting content for those unable to attend or with hearing impairments, ensuring inclusivity.

With MinuteMaster, we’re making every minute count. Whether you’re collaborating in person or virtually, our tool ensures your meetings are as productive and impactful as they can be.

How we built it

For the front-end, we used HTML, CSS, Javascript, Typescript, React.js, and Node.js. For the back-end, we used Express.js and Next.js. For the APIs, we used Whisper AI for translating the audio to text, Clerk AI for the login page, and Google Gemini API to translate the text into notes and allow the user to prompt questions about any subtopics.

Challenges we ran into

Some main challenges that we encountered was

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we were able to get a deployable project that showcases our versatility, adaptability, and diversity of the idea. Not only does it satisfy any type of user base, but also it can be used by anyone that just wants to transcribe notes.

What we learned

We not only learned about how to implement these new AI prompts into our project, but also making sure to learn different operations in javascript, using many different language libraries and learning how to work as a team together.

What's next for MinuteMaster

If there was a chance that we can develop this project again in the future, we would try to enable multi-person platform where a lot of people can access the same notes together. As well, the people who have accessibility issues can use our platform to get physical notes without having to listen to the whole lecture.
