Inspiration

Morphogenesis was inspired by the constant transformation of nature and the human mind. I wanted to explore how forms evolve, dissolve, and re-emerge—mirroring the way technology and artificial intelligence reshape our perception of reality. The idea was to capture the tension between chaos and order, the organic and the synthetic.

What it does

Morphogenesis is a short experimental film that uses AI-generated visuals, sound design, and editing techniques to create an immersive journey through abstract transformations. It invites the viewer to reflect on evolution, identity, and the hidden patterns behind change.

How we built it

I combined AI image generation with animation tools to bring still visuals to life. Then I used editing software to structure the flow, design the atmosphere, and integrate sound. Each layer—visuals, rhythm, and sound—was carefully balanced to create a coherent yet unpredictable experience.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was controlling the unpredictability of AI outputs. Sometimes the images or animations didn’t match the desired mood, forcing me to iterate multiple times. Another challenge was keeping a narrative thread in such an abstract piece, ensuring it felt like a journey rather than random visuals.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I’m proud of creating a piece that feels alive, constantly shifting, and emotionally resonant. Morphogenesis manages to merge technology and art in a way that feels both futuristic and human.

What we learned

I learned how to better direct AI tools to achieve specific artistic goals, and how to embrace their unpredictability as part of the creative process. I also discovered new editing techniques to maintain cohesion when working with generative media.

What's next for Morphogenesis

The next step is to expand the concept into a series of short films exploring different aspects of transformation—biological, emotional, and technological. I’d also like to experiment with interactive formats where the viewer’s choices affect how the morphogenesis unfolds.
