Mosaik
A puzzle game inspired by Memory and Mahjong. Match tiles with the same pattern and clear the board to win.
How to win
Clear every tile from the board by matching pairs of the same pattern. No tiles left = you win.
The board
- Tiles are arranged in layers that stack like bricks (slightly offset, not directly on top of each other).
- The layout can have holes and different shapes. On harder levels you get more tile types.
- Sometimes the whole board rotates during play (about every few matches). The tiles stay facing you; only the layout turns.
The tiles
- There are 18 possible patterns. Each game uses 8–18 of them, depending on difficulty.
- You can only match two tiles that show the exact same pattern.
Basic rules
- Same pattern only — Two tiles must show the same picture to match.
- Only free tiles — You can only tap tiles that aren't covered by another tile. Covered tiles are dimmed and can't be selected.
- Pick two — Tap one tile, then another. If they match, both disappear. If not, they shake and stay on the board.
- Plan ahead — There are many ways to solve a board, but some choices can block you later (no possible pairs left = game over).
How to play
- Tap a tile — If you see the back of a tile (plain pattern), the first tap flips it to show the face. Tap again (or tap another tile) to select.
- Select two — Your first tap highlights a tile. Your second tap tries to match it with another. Same pattern = match and both are removed. Different pattern = both shake and you can try again.
- Matches — When two tiles match, they meet in the middle and disappear. Your move count goes up by 1.
- Wrong pair — If the two patterns don't match, both tiles shake and deselect. Your move count still goes up by 1.
- Tile backs — Tiles you're not using can flip back to show the plain back after a moment. When you tap them again, they show the face. Tiles you've selected stay face-up.
Hint
- Hint shows you one possible pair you can match right now (two tiles with the same pattern).
- Using a hint adds 7 to your move count.
Undo
- Undo takes back your last move
- Using Undo adds 3 to your move count.
Restart
- Restart starts the same (or a new) puzzle from the beginning. All tiles, move count, and progress are reset.
Creator mode
Creator mode lets you build your own Mosaik puzzle and play or publish it.
Game over
You lose when there are no possible pairs left — every visible pattern has only one tile left (or none left to match). To avoid this, try to plan so you don't trap yourself.
