MrsPinnacle

  This is an example of what the extension displays on Chrome, except the caption now says seconds instead of ms.

Inspiration

We wanted to create a "online mom" of sorts, hence the name Mrs. Pinnacle, that could automate your productivity. The goal was for the product to track your browsing time online and provide suggestions on what activities to perform in real life rather than continue surfing the web.

What it does

We created a Chrome Extension that tracks the time spent on websites and displays this in a bar graph.

How we built it

We used javascript with some help from open source code. More details are in the github repo linked below.

Challenges we ran into

Some of us were relatively inexperienced with javascript, so writing and debugging the code was challenging, and we were unable to have all the features we originally hoped for or to have it working as smoothly as we desired.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we could create a project that is the foundation for a stronger product when the team was relatively inexperienced over the course of 40 hours.

What we learned

We learned a great deal of javascript, as well as lessons on teamwork, communication, and friendship.

What's next for MrsPinnacle

We would like to have the project track the selected tab of the user more effectively, improve the visuals, and have the project provide suggestions on what activities to perform in real life rather than continue surfing the web as well.
