Inspiration
We were inspired by the struggles student investors face.
What it does
Scotia Decoded is an AI-guided, Gen Z-first investing experience that uses reels, plain-language explanations, paper trading, and personalized nudges to turn young Scotiabank customers into confident first-time investors.
How we built it
We combined case research, Gen Z user behaviour, Scotiabank’s existing iTRADE/Smart Investor ecosystem, AI mentorship, and prototype screens to create a full content-to-investing journey.
Challenges we ran into
Our biggest challenge was balancing Gen Z-friendly language with the credibility and compliance expectations of a regulated bank
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that our solution goes beyond marketing by connecting social media engagement directly to in-app learning, practice, and first-investment action.
What we learned
We learned that young investors need confidence, clarity, and guidance that feels personal and understandable. We learned how to seamlessly integrate front-end with back-end.
What's next for MV2
Continuing to make UI changes and add/remove features based on user reaction.
