MxM

Inspiration

Our app, MxM, was inspired by the need to make mentorship more accessible. It rpovides a unique space where mentors and mentees can connect based on their specific goals and what they can offer to one another!

What it does

MxM is a platform designed to bridge the gap between new university graduates and seasoned professionals. By connecting with mentors, new graduates can gain valuable insights, expand their professional networks, and receive personalized career advice. The app features two-way "Mentor" and "Mentee" profiles, which allows individuals to transparently show what they're seeking and what they have to offer.

How we built it

We built this project using Kotlin, SQLite, XML, and Android Studio.

Challenges we ran into

We encountered several challenges, such as learning how to use new tools like Android Studio, implementing database engines such as SQLite and Firebase, and connecting the front-end and back-end.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of having learnt many new tools, and of having created a final, working product!

What we learned

Throughout the project, we learned how to build an app using Android Studios, from start to finish!

What's next for MxM

We plan to integrate Zoom, Google Drive, and Cloud Database into our platform to aid user connectivity through video calling and file sharing.
