NeuroPilot – Brain's co-pilot to nurture focus
An AI-powered web browser that enhances productivity while protecting your mental well-being.
Inspiration
In a world where productivity tools often overlook the human behind the task list, we set out to create a browser that respects both your goals and your energy. NeuroPilot was born out of a need to solve a growing problem — burnout caused by digital overload, scattered focus, and task anxiety.
What It Does
NeuroPilot is a Chromium-based AI browser that integrates wellness into workflow. It blends real-time physiological awareness with intelligent task management features, offering a smarter way to work without burning out.
Core Features: 1. Distraction & Progress Insights Blocks intrusive ads, tracks time saved, and visualizes your focus trends — so you understand your digital habits and productivity health. 2. Intelligent Break Scheduling Analyzes stress, sleep, and focus data (via Apple HealthKit) to recommend break times and gently nudges you back into flow afterward. 3. Real-Time Focus Assistant A built-in chatbot that helps structure tasks, set priorities, and suggests optimal times to shift, pause, or resume based on your mental state. 4. Summarizer Generates quick summaries of webpages, documents, or task descriptions — allowing you to absorb key insights without losing focus or time.
How We Built It • Frontend: React with TailwindCSS • Backend: Node.js + Python-based AI logic • AI/LLMs: OpenAI API for task breakdown, chatbot, and summarizer • Browser Base: Electron with Chromium engine • Health Data Integration: Apple HealthKit (for sleep and stress input) • Storage: Firebase for task data and user preferences
Challenges We Ran Into • Mapping health data (like HRV and sleep quality) into meaningful task prioritization logic • Designing UX that feels calm and non-intrusive — avoiding the “productivity app pressure” • Balancing AI suggestions with user autonomy
What We Learned • Wellness and productivity don’t have to be separate — they enhance each other • Real-time personalization based on physiological state creates more mindful digital tools • Users respond better to gentle nudges than hard interruptions
What’s Next • Calendar & Slack integration for seamless task import • Voice-based task interaction (e.g., “Remind me to resume project X at 2PM”) • Mood detection via tone and webcam (optional, privacy-centric) • Habit dashboard to track recovery and focus progress over time
