I see projects online regarding facial detection but I have never seen them used in a manner where they are actually beneficial to those who might need it. Our project is designed to help those who are disabled and/or paralyzed to being able to use a computer with adjustments to where they can open specific apps or make specific calls with a facial expression. I am very close to disabled people and I also work in an inclusion camp where you will see children in wheelchairs who are not able to have the same opportunities as those who are not disabled, but I want to give them the option to still have functions that they can access with a facial expression that will be best suited for them. As a beginner I learned a lot about python libraries and how to work with them. The challenges I faced was having 2 team members having circumstances that made it so that they did not come to the hackathon thus leaving the weight on just me and my partner. Additionally, debugging our code took majority of our time as we kept getting flawed results with using opencv and dlib libraries with our code.
