I worked on setting up our Unity app to work in VR. First I tried using a Samsung gear VR, but none of us had phones that were compatible with it. Next we tried using an Oculus Rift, but again none of us except for me had a GPU capable to using it. The problem was that I had Linux installed on my laptop and no Windows so I tried to get it working on a VM. After 6+ hours of trying I gave up and decided to install Windows but that also didn't work because of the way that the GPU hardware was set up in my laptop.
It was quite frustrating to spend the whole hackathon working on something that didn't work, but in the end I learned a valuable lesson: come prepared.
