💡Inspiration

Our project “Orphanet” aims to help our main user target (orphans) easily connect with other orphans so they are able to make new friends and conquer the feeling of loneliness.

🌠 What it does

“Orphanet” is a web messaging app that helps orphans connect with other orphans to find potential friends. So the orphans place their interests and hobbies and other information about themselves and we take that information and match them with people to find friends online.

⚙️How we built it

We built the web messaging application with python and streamlit.

😩 Challenges we ran into

Building our own saving data mechanism was hard.

Finishing the web app on time.

Power of teamwork and the good feeling of helping others.

😱 What's next for ORPHANET

We hope to add an adopt feature and work with foster homes /orphanages to connect orphans with potential families. We also hope to work on new projects for new user targets.
