PhotaMem is a wearable platform that automatically captures life as it happens, building a rich, searchable timeline of your moments, conversations, and places. Think of it as a scrollable flipbook of your day, ready to revisit whenever you need. Forgot a specific name in a conversation? Its simply a query away.

Powered by smart contextual tagging, transcription, and seamless video + image capture, PhotaMem helps you do more than just find lost items. It lets you retrace your steps, recall details you thought you’d forgotten, and relive the experiences that matter most.

Imagine in 30 years when you can look back at instant replay moments with you and friends. By using the Snap Spectacles that records video, audio and snaps intermittent photos and stores it in our FastAPI server we tag and set up vector embeddings for all content using Gemini's API. This allows users to navigate to our React Web UI and get the chance to query with natural language, traverse a map and see the timeline of your life.

The main challenges with this project came from the adoption of the Snap Spectacles and their specific API modules as well as the large amount of data having to be stored in different formats (.wav, base64, .png, etc).
