Input user info to get recommended the best phone plan!

Inspiration

Finding the right mobile plan can be a daunting and often frustrating experience. It can be time consuming sorting through all the different options to find the plan for you. Our team came together to create PlanPal - a Generative AI application that optimizes Verizon's user experiences of navigating the right mobile plan saving time, stress, and confusion suitable for a Verizon's diverse customer base.

What it does

PlanPal allows potential Verizon mobile plan customers to input their demographic information into a webpage and with a single click, they will receive access to a recommended data plan that best suits their usage needs and budget based on their occupation. PlanPal uses Generative AI with the help of ChatGBT to optimally match the user to the bast mobile plan for them.

The potential Verizon customer will then have a better idea of what phone plan to look into and ultimately make a decision to purchase.

How we built it

We utilized Python, HTML, and JavaScript to create PlanPal. PlanPal also uses OpenAI to automate responses for the ideal mobile plan.

Challenges we ran into

We all have had ~ 2 years of coding experience and ran into challenges using new tools we have never worked with before, such as HTML. We spent a lot of time watching YouTube videos and researching online methods to solve our problems as we were not the most advanced coders. We were able to get further than we thought we could and it was an amazing learning experience that challenges us and put our skills and knowledge to a test.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Being a diverse team of different grades and experience levels, majors (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Information Systems), and backgrounds, we were able to come together to utilize our strengths and successfully create an innovative, new Generative AI application using tools we have never used before, such as fetch and HTML. We were very proud of challenging ourselves and being able to step outside our comfort zones with this project.

With PlanPal, customers will have a more efficient buying process compared to Verizon's competitiors, resulting in stronger brand loyalty and reputation, which will help Verizon grow long term and uphold its core values of prioritizing the customer and building for the future.
