Inspiration
After learning about financial independence and being able to access a variety of sources to gain that knowledge, we felt that it was necessary for all communities regardless of their current financial or social situation to be financially literate. Therefore, our web application would allow users to go through the renowned "fire" chart in real time and mark their progress.
What it does
We have built a web app that follows the "fire" chart and allows the user to track their progress on their chart along their journey in financial independence.
How we built it
We used React.js, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Tailwind, Supabase, SQL
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges that we ran into were trying to put in too many features at a time instead of narrowing down on the basic components first. Moreover, we found it difficult to keep our codebase clean and organized due to the rushed time constraints and parameters.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of being able to share the knowledge of "fire" with others and building something that others can use to execute the "fire" plan.
What we learned
We learned that being able to work as a team is key especially when diving into a topic that requires a lot of moving parts. Also, it was important to stay organized in our roles and to stay positive in moments of lull.
What's next for PlayingWithFire
PlayingWithFire will be updated with more features to allow the users to have a better experience as well as learn more about financial information as a whole.
