Inspiration

When people are traveling to countries that they have never been to before, sometimes they don't consider all the possible variables to ensure that their trip meets their expectations. We created this project to centralize a number of variables that we believe that travelers should know before they travel as they're planning their trip or while they're there and have a free schedule.

What it does

This application has an extensive database of various countries and different facts about these countries. Users are able to view countries and see recommended cities to visit, weather patterns during various seasons, what kind of currency they use, etc.

How we built it

We built our project in Visual Studio Code using HTML, CSS, C# and the Blazor framework. There was no framework for our front-end but our backend was built using Firebase

Challenges we ran into

We are only a two person team and were also working on projects for our courses so our time was kind of split between working

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to implement majority of the features that we planned and are able to pull our information from the database.

What we learned

CSS hates us as at times even though the code was correct, it wouldn't display on all our devices and would randomly start working later while we were working on other features.

What's next for Pocket Aces

We hope to implement a constantly updating currency exchange API so members can see what currency that country uses and what is the current exchange rate is at.
