Inspiration
In the United States, medical equipment like prosthetics and braces have become far too expensive. The rising costs of health insurance, production, and raw materials have skyrocketed the costs of prosthetic limbs and braces. Accidents involving prosthetics like blunt trauma, cancer, and disease are often sudden and can leave a significant financial burden on struggling families. We hope to alleviate this incredibly painful experience of requiring prosthetics through lowering costs.
What it does
Pro-Sthetic is a tool that is made to completely change the way we interact with prosthetics and braces. We implemented AI prompting with 3D Model generation in order to lower the cost of production and manufacturing and save victims from the struggle of making and ordering a prosthetic.
How we built it
Supabase - user authentication and database
Python Fast API - Backend
Next JS + Tailwind CSS - Frontend
LangChain, Claude 4 - AI
OpenSCAD - 3D Modeling
Challenges we ran into
Our prompts were pretty bad initially, so we created a prompt enhancement software to ensure better quality results.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of being able to pull off a project this complex with just one day of time.
What we learned
None of us have ever worked with 3d modeling, so using it for the first time taught us a lot about it.
What's next for Pro-Sthetic
Revise the algorithm to include a more expansive array of medical instruments and technologies
Webcam page that uses machine learning to maximize compatibility with patients
Compatibility with animals for veterinary applications
