What it does
Mod that bricks your computer after spinning a Dorito in an item frame.
How we built it
Used Java for creating the mod in Fabric including making a new item, checking for the specific item's rotation in an item frame and for starting the malware effect. Aseprite for making the Dorito item. C++ for the malware effect at the end.
Challenges we ran into
Getting item frame detection and opening .exe files from within Minecraft.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Having the Dorito item look correct within Minecraft itself. Making an unstoppable way to completely brick the computer from Minecraft.
What we learned
How to use multiple areas of Java, especially within working with multiple files. How Minecraft handles a lot of its behaviours and events along with how to change them with Fabric.
What's next for Project RX
Testing more events within Minecraft to see what we can manage through an item within the game.
