Inspiration

I enjoy travelling by myself as much as I do with my friends; I love deciding where to go on the spot and letting my feelings lead me.

What it does

This app randomly selects a tourist spot in Japan that is within some (you can choose!) kilometres from your current location. And you can view their homepage or search it on Google, and open Google Maps to that place.

How I built it

I used Python and Pandas to conduct web-scraping of other Japanese tourism websites to create a data frame with over 300 tourism spots in Japan. Then I created a Python function to randomly select a spot within the radius from the user's current location. The UI and interactive buttons are created with HTML, CSS, and Javascript with the help of the Django framework.
