Inspiration
There's no longer physical limitations to global music distribution. Our inspiration is to arm independent musicians with the licensing and production tools they need to get to the next level.
What it does
Provides automatic licensing options for independent hip hop producers and rappers.
How we built it
We built a mobile responsive app that works on mobile, tablet and desk. We used Laravel and MySQL on the backend and Javascript, Jquery and Bootstrap with LESS on the frontend. We used the Lyft APIs.
Challenges we ran into
We needed a schedule Lyft feature but thje API would not allow it now but it is achievable by scheduling a task on our backend to trigger the API call when the artist actually need to make it to the studio.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Working around API constraints, app design, business potential to have each artist be their own record label.
What we learned
How to collectively work around challenges productively, and work as a team, helping each other in ways that allowed each of us to individually focus on what we do best and not waste time on anything that would hinder the team and or project.
What's next for Rap.HAUS
Win in any of the commerce, consumer, or creation categories, and with proof of concept proceed to continue to make a positive impact in the music industry and in the lives of those it reaches, as well as take the experiences of this hackathon with us into future hackathons to further our skill sets and contributions to our communities..
