Inspiration

RSB was inspired by the realization that most online learning experiences feel more like repetitive trial and error than true exploration. Too often, learners are left struggling alone with abstract concepts rather than being guided through interactive, hands-on discovery. We wanted to change that by creating a platform that makes learning feel dynamic, visual, and conversational bringing users closer to exploring ideas with a mentor than reading static material.

What it does

Really Smart Board is an interactive web-based learning platform that transforms how users explore and understand new concepts across a wide range of subjects. It combines conversational AI with a dynamic digital whiteboard, allowing users to engage in an intuitive, hands-on learning experience. Through a back-and-forth dialogue with their chosen AI model, users can ask questions, receive explanations, visualize ideas through live drawings, and be guided step-by-step through interactive lessons, all within the same collaborative workspace.## How we built it

Challenges we ran into

Integrating the tldraw Agent Starter Kit into a multi-route React app proved difficult due to its rigid, single-page design and reliance on Cloudflare Durable Objects. Adding ElevenLabs’ voice SDK further complicated the setup, requiring custom UI components and connection logic to combine voice interaction, routing, and the whiteboard environment into one smooth experience.

What we learned

Pivoting is a crucial part of the hackathon process as our plans continually changed as our tools were heavily opinionated and made weaving everything together much harder. Next time we should try further investigating the tools we plan to use.

What's next for really smart board

We plan to properly flesh out all of the initially desired features for RSB by implementing a more customized user experience through source material uploads and post lesson quizzes/review-material.
