Inspiration

Did you watch Sherlock Holmes? Have you ever heard of mind palace? Sherlock Holmes, places a lot of information into his head and has to be ready to recall those details quickly as he solves his mysteries. He places that information in his mind palace that is run by vivid images.

What it does

Simply, mind palace is a memory aid used to remember large quantities of information. Recollection follows the same theory of placing memorable images in different locations to revisit in order to improve your memory.

How we built it

We used AR kit to build the app. It is a mobile AR app.

Challenges we ran into.

We are a team of beginners who used the memory palace technique as we built Recollection, to show others how they can use the memory palace technique to quickly learn, remember, and employ large quantities of information, even in a short period of team

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Making it happen. Our team worked tirelessly, pushed ourselves and used our strengths to come up with an effective tool that we can't wait to share with others.

What we learned

We learned that collaboration is EVERYTHING.

What's next for Recollection

AI Integration is next. AI can be used to run the app. With AI Integration any text can be uploaded and broken down into short phrases. AI can also read aloud the text. At grand scale, combined with AI Recollection can expand its device usage to MR goggles. Education (from learning to read to studying for exams), Professional Development (interview prep and public speaking), Cognitive Rehabilitation (rebuild cog skills after a concussion), Recollection has the possibility to help a large population of all stages of life.
