Inspiration
Inspired by natural reserve and animal enthusiasm.
What it does
It allows natural reserve enthusiasts to spot species and find out exciting info about them. While they click the photo to obtain information from the natural reserve's maintained data, it feeds back location information to the natural reserve for scientific, maintaining, and tracking of the species.
How we built it
Built with ASP.NET backend, ReactJS, and ReactNativeJS Front End. We used Google Cloud Vision API to relate our taken photographs to species maintained in the reserve. We used Word Similarity API to match google's label to data recorded by natural reserve.
Challenges we ran into
Our Front End Engineer Teammate did not show up on the second day. We could not complete the front end last minute. We had to hard code the admin portal in order to demo to cover this.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are underway with our project plan are on a very good track to pull of the final vision.
What we learned
Choosing Teammates right. React Native UI/UX Design. Managing projects, Bootstrap Studio, etc.
What's next for ReservaDEX
We plan this to be a database track to eventually bring a species API live on the internet. With data from users and park managers combined, there is a huge potential in this as no good animmal database API exist.
