Inspiration
At the stroke of midnight on December 31st of every year, millions of New Year's Resolutions are set in place. But, how many people actually stick with that resolution? That's what I thought. We wanted to bring a lighthearted, competitive spirit to the world of making resolutions by turning it into a competitive game amongst friends to see who is truly the best at sticking to their resolutions.
What it does
Once installed on an Android device, users can set their resolutions, join a group with their friends, and check in when they have executed their resolution. Each group of users (created by one user adding all his/her friends) will have their own unique scoreboard to keep track of how many times everyone did their resolution.
How we built it
For front end, we used Android Studio to make a fully-functioning native app. Our backend use Flask and Pymongo, storing all our data in MongoDB, and was deployed on Heroku.
What we learned
We learned how to use and integrate new frameworks and APIs during this development process, including Google Maps API, Flask, MongoDB, and Heroku.
