Inspiration

People are not very socialized these day, especially developers like us. We want to create something to fix this problem in workplace. To encourage people to connect with each other, we created ReSpecVP.

What it does

ReSpecVP basically allows users to post and RSVP events or post and Accept requests (favors) of other users. It tailored for workplace. People will be able to create and find interesting events happening nearby posted by other employees. The users You can only use the app if you have company's email.

Example 1

If you need a ride to work, you can simply send request to your coworker through the app. It’s less hassle than texting one by one. Not just your friends, everyone who are available can reach out and lend you a hand.

Example 2

You have an extra ticket to a concert, but don’t want to sell it online because of scammer. You can sell it through ReSpecVP for your coworker. More reliable group of people.

Challenges I ran into

It took us pretty long to decide a topic to work on. Plus, this project has a lot of tedious features that need to be handled by advanced front end JavaScript like AJAX request. Also, to make the app stand out from traditional social flatforms like facebook, fishbowl, we need to design many unique functionalities.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We finished the project in time.

What's next for ReSpecVP

We want to turn ReSpecVP into an mobile app to make it's even more easy to use for non-tech user. We also want to create a Slack app.
