Inspiration

The inspiration for our project comes from a conversation I had with my roommate a few weeks ago. We were talking about how we wished there was a website were you could input how you would normally describe what you did at work and have it spit out the verbiage you need to put on resumes to pass the ATS.

What it does

Our web application displays an image of space truman before guiding the user to a form with many inputs about their previous job experiences, education, projects, and skills. The application then dynamically creates a resume for the user using our template.

How we built it

We built our web app using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. We collaborated on our code using Microsoft Word repl.it.

Challenges we ran into

We ran in many challenges with Google Cloud. We were not able to overcome these challenges and decided to pivot to a project that could be completed in a weekend. Additionally, we ran into challenges with parsing data in JavaScript, but were able to figure out the issues when debugging.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we were able to create a functional web application after all the set backs we had this weekend. We are proud of space truman who we cannot escape.

What we learned

We learned a lot about web development and JavaScript this weekend. Additionally, we learned how to scope a project for rapid development over the weekend.

What's next for ResumeSpace

Next we would like to make a more resume templates to allow the users more choices. Additionally, we would like to explore the Machine Learning Natural Language library that we were unable to implement this weekend. We would also like to explore writing the user's input to Google Docs to allow the user to make slight changes after the resume has been generated.
