Inspiration
Have you ever been in a situation where you friend just flamed you, but you can't think of a comeback? Now you have a bot to help!
What it does
The roast bot uses Microsoft's Cognitive Services to compare faces from Reddit's /r/roastme to a photo that the user uploads and selects an appropriate roast from the subreddit comments.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Despite our final project needing a lot of work we have learned a lot over this weekend. We have been introduced to Git, Microsoft's Cognitive Services, Firebase, OpenCV, machine learning, open source and so much more. We are proud that we have so much knowledge that we can continue to use outside of HackIllinois.
What's next for Roast Bot
The photo comparisons still need to be mapped to the comments pulled from /r/roastme and there needs to be some sort of filter for (extremely) inappropriate comments. We hope to create a bot that can generate its own roasts based on reddit comments instead of copying the top comments that currently exist. We would also like to come up with a ranking system for the comments so a user can choose how dark they want their roast.
