Inspiration

We wanted to tackle social problems but we thought about how people usually arent willing to completely change their lives all at once. So our idea was to make it easier for people to transition out of bad habits or into good ones.

What it does

It provides tabs for various good and bad habits and gives daily, weekly, and monthly tips that you can follow to slowly transition into a better lifestyle.

How I built it

We used html, css, and javascript to create a website to put together the tips in a simple and fun interface to make it easy to pop in and start getting on track.

Challenges I ran into

We originally planned to implement a login feature but I ran into problems with my OS when trying to download mongoDB. We had a server initially but also had to scrap that as others couldnt ssh into it. What we have now is a proof of concept using only frontend elements.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Our website accomplishes its goal of being a simple interface for people to get started with their tracks.

What I learned

I learned that getting a group on track working together when they have different workflows and environments is difficult. Trying to merge code from each groupmember proved difficult.

What's next for Runnit

We plan to implement the backend features which we ran into problems with before. This should allow for users to login and save their progress as well as allow us to store more tips and resources for users to have easy access to. This would also allow users to pick tracks they are specifically interested in so they can have a customized home page. We also plan to have resources tabs for each of the tracks so that if people are interested in learning more about the good/bad habits that they chose.
