Inspiration
I'm at a sales job at a tech company and we always face the same issue:
- Someone from sales meets with a prospective customer
- The customer has questions about the product roadmap
- The salesperson has to ask product
But it's messier in the remote world: Sales people are having to sift through multiple Slack channels just to get an answer! 👀
What it does
SalesSync allows the sales team to use Slack Workflows to simply pull up a shortcut, ask a question to product, and have it routed to the relevant product teams.
Product teams are happy since they can now answer questions at their own pace, and customers are happy to have their questions answered at all!
How we built it
We used Slack's workflow features:
- We setup a Workflow in the Sales channel for a sales person to pull up a form and ask a question with some details that Product will need.
- The workflow sends a message to the Product team's general channel
- When a product person reacts with 👀 on the message, they pull up a form and answer the question for sales.
- Both the question and answer get routed in the Workflow to Google Sheets using Zapier, so there's an "FAQ" that naturally develops over time, which people can refer to to get their questions answered!
What's next for SalesSync
We want to develop the "Wiki" idea further and have a full, feature-rich crowd-sourced Wiki of common questions and answers, so sales and product teams can work better together!
