What it does

ScoutScape streamlines Vancouver film location scouting by combining Overpass facility data, TomTom traffic flow, Open-Meteo weather conditions, and Gemini-powered equipment guidance in a single map workflow.

How we built it

One of the members identified a gap in the availability of logistics tools for film location scouts. Normally, they rely on different non-specialized tools to collect data about a location against factors that could interfere with the quality and efficiency of film production. One of the factors we wanted to tackle is sound quality, so we brainstormed sources, activities that could potentially interfere with filming sound quality, and searched the internet for an API that could provide this information.

• Information about the pinged location itself
• Laws surrounding the selected locations
• Common facilities to support the film crew, like parking lots, catering
