In today's digital landscape, designers and marketers often prioritize visual appeal, yet SEO optimization is crucial for online visibility. For small businesses, effective SEO strategies are instrumental in building brand awareness and establishing credibility in a competitive market.

Recognizing this gap, we developed SEO Booster, a seamless Adobe Express add-on that integrates real-time, AI-driven SEO suggestions directly into the design workflow. By providing features like optimized alt-text, keyword recommendations, and metadata generation, SEO Booster empowers users to enhance their content's discoverability without leaving the platform, ensuring their creations are both visually compelling and primed for maximum online reach.

What it does

We would like to explain what SEO-booster does with an example!!

Let’s say you are a content designer for a clothing brand and you are awesome at graphics designing. It’s fashion week and you have designed a very cool poster to increase the footfall of organic traffic at the brand’s website. Now as you are a designer, you don’t know how your poster is going to create a big impact on the website. So here comes our hero, SEO Booster

All you have to do is, select the poster's elements and write a short description about the brand you are working with. Voila!! our add-on will give you all the features mentioned below.

Key features include: -AI Generated Alt-Text Automatically creates descriptive alt-text for images, improving accessibility and boosting SEO rankings, as crawlers look for description written in the alt-text within the HTML code.

-SEO-Friendly Titles and Descriptions Suggests optimized headlines and meta descriptions based on the content, ensuring better visibility in search engine results.

-Keyword Analysis and Suggestions Analyzes the text within designs to identify and recommend high-ranking keywords relevant to the content's topic. These keywords could be included not only in the posters but in the website as well.

-General Tips Provides guidance on optimal text lengths, and other general suggestions about the content.

How we built it

Utilizing the Adobe Express Add-on SDK, we developed a seamless integration that reads and analyzes canvas/documents in real-time and takes additional context from the user. Our backend leverages AI models to process text and image data, providing instant SEO recommendations. The frontend is designed with minimalism, ensuring a native look and feel within Adobe Express.

Challenges we ran into

-Fetching and Reading Elements Present on the Canvas (Document) The add-on needed to understand what elements are currently present on the canvas correctly to provide relevant content

-Hosting API to serve correct responses We needed to receive correct responses in the correct format by the LLM so as to parse them without any errors in the Add-on UI Frame

-Invoking API Endpoints from Add-on Since the Add-ons don’t support .env files, we had lots of CORS related errors when we sent API requests from Add-ons

-Clipboard API being Blocked to be accessed by JS

Accomplishments that we're proud of

-Pioneering SEO Integration within Adobe Express We successfully developed the first-ever SEO optimization add-on tailored for Adobe Express, addressing a significant gap where design and discoverability often operate in silos.

-AI-Driven Insights Leveraging advanced AI models, we implemented features such as auto-generated alt-text, keyword optimization, and metadata suggestions, enhancing both accessibility and search engine visibility.

-Seamless User Experience Our add-on integrates effortlessly into the Adobe Express interface, providing real-time SEO suggestions without disrupting the creative workflow, ensuring designers remain in their creative zone.

-Empowering Non-Technical Users By simplifying complex SEO concepts into actionable recommendations, we empower designers and marketers without technical backgrounds to enhance their content's online presence effectively.

What we learned

The very important thing that we learned is what a great team can think of, design and build just within 24 hours!! Through developing SEO Booster, we discovered that integrating AI-driven tools directly into the design workflow significantly enhances efficiency and creativity. Additionally, we learned to fine-tune AI models to deliver accurate and timely suggestions and we gained in-depth knowledge of Adobe Express's extensibility and customization options.

What's next for SEO Booster

We're evolving SEO Booster into an intelligent, proactive assistant within Adobe Express, aiming to empower content creators and marketers with advanced capabilities:

-Agentic AI Integration By incorporating Agentic AI, SEO Booster will autonomously analyze, plan, and execute complex SEO strategies, adapting to evolving algorithms and user behaviors without constant human intervention.

-Multilingual SEO Support To cater to a global audience, SEO Booster will expand its capabilities to include SEO optimization for multiple languages, ensuring content is effectively localized and optimized for diverse markets.

-Integration with Adobe Ecosystem We'll explore deeper integration with other Adobe tools, such as Adobe Analytics and Adobe Experience Manager, to provide a cohesive workflow for users seeking advanced content management and performance tracking.
