Inspiration

We wanted more functionality than what Spotify had to offer when it came to finding new music that your friends like or forming new friends based on the music they enjoy.

What it does

Allows users who own a Spotify account to join a Circle. These Circles each have a playlist associated with them and users can add songs and vote on songs they enjoy that are in the playlist.

How we built it

We used: React.js FastAPI Spotipy Firebase Figma

Challenges we ran into

Navigation of Spotify authentication.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

A really nice page layout that brings all the little pieces together.

A lot about python and React.js

What's next for Spotify Circles

We plan on adding functionality for timestamped comments on songs in a similar vein to Soundcloud, so if you're listening to a song someone else left a comment on, it will appear at that point in the song and you can leave your own.
