Inspiration

Our inspiration was Yuka, a health app that ranks items based on the ingredients of the item. We decided to bring this idea to a larger scale and connect it with Amazon to make a better ranking system than the ones in use today.

What it does

Google marketplace orders are based on the price and user reviews and don’t look at the health impact or sustainability of the product to the user. Rather than ordering based on price and reviews, our new and improved order is instead based on the health benefits or the sustainability of the product.

How we built it

We used technology such as Python, CSS, HTML, and Gemini.

Challenges we ran into

Items that were not on the API were hard to rank, but we prompted Gemini with descriptions of the desired product in order to come up with a ranking and populate Amazon links to those products.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Linking Gemini and our API in different use cases of our product.

What we learned

Webscraping, Gemini integration, API usage are things that we learned throughout this project.

What's next for Yougle

Integrating eBay, Google Shopping, and other e-commerce websites with our product, as well as having a bigger database to base our grades off of in order to have more options presented to our user.
