Challenges we ran into
One of the significant challenges we encountered during the development of SpotVision was the process of training the dataset of images to produce the required output for each image. Implementing unsupervised learning algorithms for computer vision demanded meticulous attention to detail, extensive testing, and fine-tuning to achieve the desired accuracy in detecting empty parking spaces. Overcoming this challenge required a collaborative effort, involving continuous experimentation with various parameters to optimize the learning process.
Another noteworthy challenge we faced was in effectively leveraging Google Cloud for processing the images. Integrating the communication between the Raspberry Pi and Google Cloud posed technical intricacies that required innovative solutions. Ensuring the seamless flow of data for real-time processing demanded a thorough understanding of both the hardware and cloud components, leading to creative problem-solving to establish a reliable and scalable connection.
In navigating these challenges, our team fostered a spirit of collaboration, persistence, and adaptability.
